Many Singapore SME owners pay for third-party SEO rank trackers that estimate traffic using rough models—while ignoring the most accurate, 100% free first-party dataset provided directly by Google: Google Search Console (GSC). In 20 minutes a month, GSC shows you the exact commercial phrases real buyers type into Google before clicking your website, and which pages are knocking on the door of the top 20.
Alongside our guides on monthly marketing report metrics and content refresh SEO signals, review these seven Google Search Console views every month.
1. “Striking Distance” Queries (Average Position 8 to 20 with High Impressions)
Where to find it: Performance > Search results > Enable Clicks, Impressions, CTR, Position > Filter Position >8 and <21 (Country: Singapore).
What to do with it: Queries sitting in positions 8 to 20 (bottom of Page 1 to Page 2) are your fastest wins. Add a dedicated H2 sub-section or HTML table addressing that exact query on the ranking URL, and add 2–3 internal links pointing to it from related posts.
2. High-Impression, Low-CTR Commercial Pages (Meta Title & Snippet Opportunity)
Where to find it: Performance > Pages tab > Sort by Impressions descending.
What to do with it: If a service page or listicle ranks in positions 3–8 and earns 2,000 monthly impressions but has a Click-Through Rate (CTR) below 1.5%, your Yoast SEO Title and Meta Description are failing to win the click. Rewrite the title to highlight a concrete number, checklist, or Singapore buyer benefit.
3. Query-to-Page Inspection (Spotting Keyword Cannibalisation Early)
Where to find it: Performance > Click any commercial Query > Switch to the Pages tab.
What to do with it: Ideally, one query should map to one dominant URL receiving 90%+ of clicks. If you see two or three different URLs splitting impressions for the same query, apply our keyword cannibalisation consolidation rules.
4. Page Indexing Report: “Crawled – currently not indexed” vs “Discovered”
Where to find it: Indexing > Pages > Why pages aren’t indexed.
What to do with it: Check that all newly published blog listicles and commercial service pages sit inside the green Indexed bucket. If important pages sit inside “Crawled – currently not indexed”, enrich their original content depth and ensure they receive contextual internal links from already-indexed pages.
5. Submitted Sitemaps Status (`post-sitemap.xml` & `page-sitemap.xml`)
Where to find it: Indexing > Sitemaps.
What to do with it: Confirm that your Yoast XML sitemap index (`sitemap_index.xml`) shows `Success`, recent `Last read` dates, and that the discovered URL count matches your actual published post and page inventory.
6. Core Web Vitals (Mobile vs Desktop Field Data)
Where to find it: Experience > Core Web Vitals.
What to do with it: Monitor real-world Chrome User Experience (CrUX) field data for Largest Contentful Paint (`LCP`), Interaction to Next Paint (`INP`), and Cumulative Layout Shift (`CLS`). If a template group drops into “Needs improvement”, apply our Core Web Vitals speed fixes and WebP image rules.
7. Internal & External Links Report (Top Linked Pages Distribution)
Where to find it: Links > Internal links > Top linked pages.
What to do with it: Verify that your core commercial conversion hubs—such as What We Do, Subscription Plans, and Contact Us—and your flagship pillar articles sit at the top of your internal link distribution rather than outdated utility pages.
